So life continues. I was in the computer industry doing the programming thing for about five years, then decided, after much soul-searching, to pursue a career in teaching.(Elementary School).
I began a two-year program to get my certification, had to quit the programming job in the second year because I interned at an elementary school, and I'm now on the other side of a long and sometimes rocky road.
I have my certification (sorta), and will soon have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. While I wait for that career to begin, my old career has come back to at least pay the bills while I wait.
Now the time of truth is really beginning - the situation I'm suddenly in doing programming is paying very well, but doesn't come close to the intrinsic satisfaction I've felt helping students to learn and grow. Will I take the quick an easy path, or stick to my goals?
